This is not easy, as it is impossible to know exactly where the mind is going to take you. It is more to the point that you have the interest, time, and passion to take it in any direction. Students may have more knowledge about a topic than the teacher does, but that knowledge may not be the same as the knowledge of the student. There may be factors involved in the nature of the topic that will make it difficult for a student to relate to the material presented in the course.As a student, you must be ready to be challenged and to look for new ideas. Once a topic is chosen, it is essential to stay focused and to think about what it means to you. Some students like to search for the easiest and simplest answers. Others may prefer something more difficult. While it is important to remember that you are a student first, it is also important to remember that you are writing a thesis.Whatever your particular interests may be, the student needs to be willing to do the research necessary to find the answer. Many of the topics in this curriculum are on the general fringe of the field, and it is not advisable to base the work of your thesis on these. The curriculum does not make allowances for ease of reading or discussion. Research is required.
